The delicate fragrance of the pikake is both heavenly and unforgettable and is a rare and prized flower lei. Introduced to Hawai'i in the 1800s, it is also known as jasmine and became a favorite of the ali'i or royals. Princess Kaiulani loved this flower and named it after her favorite bird, the peacock.
